How to compare two quotes

The cheapest quote is not always the best quote. A useful comparison checks scope, materials, warranty, timing, exclusions, payment terms and what happens if the job changes.

Compare these points

  • Is the scope of work the same?
  • Are parts/materials listed clearly?
  • Is tax/VAT included?
  • What warranty is included?
  • Who removes waste or old parts?
  • When will work start and finish?
  • What payment is required upfront?
  • What is excluded?

If one quote is much cheaper, check what is missing. If one is much more expensive, ask what extra value or protection is included.

Paste both quotes into PeoplePick DealCheck and ask it to compare them.
